Robert I. I. (Bob) Bondi

Bob is in touch with the people who make a difference and he will be a team player on the city council to leverage his ability to reach out to those who can join the effort to grow Galesburg.

Meeting with Matt Rose, President and CEO of BNSF. Bondi was presenting the National Railroad Hall of Fame Induction Plaque of Louis Menk, former CEO of BN, in 2002. Community activities like this help bring additional focus to Galesburg's commitment to the Railroad Industry and those relationships create confidence for businesses to expand their activities and jobs in our community. On January 8, 2013, Mr. Rose addressed a luncheon meeting in Galesburg, as sponsored by GREDA. BNSF is the largest employer in Galesburg.

Bob Bondi is the third generation manager of the Bondi Building, through his management company SCC, Inc., located on the Northeast corner of Kellogg and Main Street. The current and past tenants are a "Who's Who" of business and professional services since 1928, with many of them expanding to become key employers in the Galesburg Area. We like to think that if you create an environment for success and give those businesses the support to succeed, that Galesburg succeeds too.

Bondi Building - a major business incubator

Bondi has been on the Board of Directors for the Galesburg Downtown Council (GDC) for over 20 years and has served as President, Vice President, Treasurer and committee chairman for many task forces to improve Galesburg's Downtown Area. The GDC is a self governing downtown property owners organization that is completely self funding and is in charge of facade renovation, streetscape maintenance and provides general oversight for the benefit of downtown properties.

Bondi was one of the founders and original/current Board Member of the Galesburg Regional Economic Development Association nka the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development (KCAPE). KCAPE's mission is to provide leadership for economic growth, prosperity while helping employers create and retain quality jobs. KCAPE's vision is to guide the region in sustaining and strengthening the economic health of Knox County.
